چکیده
An experiment was carried out at the Faculty of Agriculture Department Agricultural Meteorology Farm, Centre for Advanced Meteorology,College Agriculture, Pune during Kharif seasons 2014 and 2015.The laid a split plot design with three replications. The treatment comprised brinjal hybrids viz.,V1:Phule Arjun, V2: Krishna, V3: Panchganaga as main four planting windows viz., P1: 31st MW (30 July-5 August), P2: 32ndMW (6-12August), P3:33rdMW (13-19 August) P4: 34thMW (20-26 subplot treatments. Micrometeorological studies Cumulative GDD, HTU, PTU end each growth stage showed that numerically higher requirement observed in hy.Phule Arjun over hy.Krishna hy.Panchganga both years 2015 experimentation period.Whereas, lowest canopy temperature found (29.0 0C) than rest hybrids. Canopy reflected PAR transmitted (191.54 188.62 µ mol m-2s-1) among Amongst all hybrids, Phule were significantly superior under extended followed by Krishna Panchganga. Planting (1st week to be most suitable optimum considering yield attributes. This window par 32nd window. Linear correlation analysis fruit weather parameters positively correlated maximum minimum temperature.

PERSISTENCE OF ABAMECTIN RESIDUES IN/ON BRINJAL (Solanum melongena)
Spray application of abamectin (CHA 2062) was given twice to brinjal crop at 15 days interval at the recommended dose and double the recommended dose of 14.4 and 28.8 g a.i./ha during December, 2007March, 2008 to study its residue persistence. Initial residues of abamectin on brinjal from the two treatments were 0.202 and 0.815 mg/ kg, respectively. The residues persisted for 3 days from both t...

The study was carried out to estimate magnitude of heterosis over better parent and standard check for some important characters in 15 crosses resulting from a half diallel mating design of 6 inbred lines of brinjal. Hybrid variety ‘Tarapuri’ was used as standard check. The parents and the hybrids were evaluated at the farm of Olericulture Division, HRC, BARI, during the winter season of 2008-2...
متن کاملComparison of polyphenol oxidase in fruits of Solanum melongena L. (purple) and Solanum melongena L. (green)
A comparative study of polyphenol oxidase (PPO) from two varieties of brinjal (local long green-bili badnea and purple-gundu badne) was conducted to determine differences and similarities of some of the characteristics of the PPO enzymes in terms of temperature and pH optima, substrate specificity, thermal inactivation and potency of some PPO inhibitors. PPO was partially purified by ammonium s...
متن کاملEffect on Growth Parameters of Brinjal (solanum Melongena L.) after Exposure of Cement Dust
The effect of cement dust on the growth parameters of brinjal (Solanum melongena) was studied. The cement dust (2 g/plant) exhibited both inhibitory and promotory effects on different growth parameters of the S. melongena. The decrease in the number of leaves (37.19 and 62.28%), leaf area (57.93 and 57.26%), root length (48.21 and 56.75%), shoot length (27.27 and 38.98%), plant circumference (3...

Brinjal (Solanum melongena L.) var. Mattu Gulla (MG) and var. Perampalli Gulla (PG) are unique varieties with distinct flavour cultivated in Udupi, Karnataka State, and are exposed to several biotic and abiotic stresses. An efficient and reproducible in vitro regeneration method is required to expedite the manipulation of these brinjal varieties to cope up with stress by tissue culture and gene...
